Thyme is a herb with a penetrating fragrance originally from the Mediterranean.
Although it has a strong flavour, it blends well with other flavours rather than dominating them, making it useful in nearly any cuisine. Tea is known to be a traditional herbal remedy to soothe coughs or sore throats.
Thyme tea:
Pour hot (not boiling) water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Allow the tea to steep for 10 minutes and then strain.
